Jeep Life

The legendary Jeep: rugged, enduring, and made for adventure.   The air conditioner went out in my Acadia … during a 100-degree heat wave. It was yet another repair in only five short years that needed to be made…

Man is not disturbed by events, but by the view he takes of the event. ~ Epictetus   I missed my first blog post last month. After two and a half years of writing at least one post a…

LiaMay 18, 2018 Leave a comment

I’ve added a new page on my website—What I’m Reading. I’m only listing books I’ve personally read and think will be worth your time, and I’ve included a blurb about each book to help you decide. I hope you…

This girl with her big 80’s hair and her tired e This girl with her big 80’s hair and her tired eyes is a sixteen-year-old mom.

This picture was taken in her bedroom. Notice the accessories around her and on the wall behind her.

I wish I could go back and tell this girl a thing or two like, “It all works out in the end.”

“You are better for it.”

“It’s a blessing in disguise.”

You know, all those cliche’s that bring a half-hearted smile when you’re in the thick of life.

Well, guess what? It’s not this girl’s end and from where I’m standing her life has turned out quite beautifully.

I truly am so much better because of my blessing in disguise.

And even better yet, his unexpected appearance in my life has brought a windfall of many more blessings. ❤️❤️❤️

I’ve taken a bold step and decided to share this girl’s inspiring journey instead of hiding it behind a wall of shame. You can follow along with me a liakcook.com (link in my bio). My goal is that we (you, me, the remnants of this girl) will continue to take the blind and bold steps that will lead us back to true ourselves and a life of our own creating. #selflovejourney #trueself #bebold
After watching 🎥 Netflix’s version of Rebecca After watching 🎥 Netflix’s version of Rebecca a few weeks ago, I knew I had to read the 📘 book! I still don’t know which I think is better because I love them both. But I can tell you the book (as always) took me deeper into this immersive tale.

Which is why I give Daphne Du Maurier’s Rebecca ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A true classic with a copyright of 1938. This captivating historical tale about the second Mrs de Winter’s life in the shadow of her predecessor—Rebecca—had me ignoring the world and all of my responsibilities (even sleep) until the surprising end. Full of foreboding suspense, high society, a bewitching setting, the hope of love, and a twisting plot this book is joining the ranks of my all-time favorites. ❤️ #bookrecommendations #readerscommunity #bookworms #bookish #bookishlove
